This shot was a collaboration with animator Fabian Martinez. I was responsible for shading, lighting, and compositing. I really wanted to push the cinematic feel with this shot and I am happy with how it turned out! Tried a few new things that I'm excited to develop further in next projects.

A lot of times in animation, sunset lighting is synonymous with strong pinks, purples, oranges (which make for incredibly beautiful shots!). My main goal for this shot was to achieve the mood of a more live action filmic sunset, like the image on the left. I focused on getting really soft glowy shaping on the characters, and keeping the background a touch more desaturated.
